Ticks
Wow...am I glad today is almost over. Anything that could throw our schedule off, happened. It started last Wednesday when my daughter and some friends were playing outside in our front yard. Becca fell several times and rolled around in our grass. No big deal, she's done that a million times. That night, while giving her a bath, I noticed a tick. Darren got it out...I yanked and yanked and that booger was not coming out. Well, being the typical 3-year-old, she likes to do things on her own with minimal help from me. I didn't think twice about the tick until I was giving her a bath Saturday night and noticed a pimple-looking thing with a red ring where the tick had been. We looked online and it said it could take a week to a month for any symptoms of lyme disease to show up. Since she wasn't feeling bad, we waited until today to take her to the doctor. He said it probably was and gave her antiobiotics to take so she probably will never feel any effects from the disease. She had a blood test done which they said will probably show up negative. She'll go back in a month and see if there are any antibodies.
All the scheduling conflicts that happened today, between my husband working, me watching kids and not being able to get away or get ahold of anyone to help me, and having to be at a school to do a SLAH party, as well as finish my resume and cover letter to apply for a job with the deadline being today. Kids were running around driving me nuts while I was trying to get ready for my stuff as well as find out how to get my daughter to the doctor. Let me just say I'm glad today is over and realize I don't always perform well under pressure.

Easter
We were pretty busy this weekend. Our church had an Eggstravaganza event Saturday morning with the story of Easter, crafts, games, snacks and an egg hunt. Then after lunch, we went to a friend's parents house that does a big thing for the kids every year. She painted, played, hunted eggs and ate. Sunday, we of course went to church. We ate lunch at the club and then had an egg hunt with dad as the Easter bunny. The club also gave Easter baskets to all the kids. We got a quick nap and then went to another friend's parent's house for an egg hunt, crafts and snack. The kids got to go to the table of prizes several times to pick out cool things. Becca enjoyed every minute of the weekend.

Rain
If you look in the right hand side towards the middle, you can see the brightly colored toddler slide way down river.
We had quite a bit of rain Monday into Tuesday. It stopped raining Tuesday morning but the "little river" behind our house continued to rise all day. I never thought about it getting as high as it did so I didn't move Becca's play equipment. The swingset stayed put put the frog sandbox, teeter totter and toddler slide went floating down the river. Yesterday, Darren found the toddler slide and the top of the sandbox but nothing else. Maybe we'll still found them, but at least we bought them from a neighbor last year used so we didn't pay too much for them. I'm most sad about the sandbox which still didn't have sand in it but was looking forward to using it this summer. We just may have to get another one.

Mother of the year
I must be running for mother of the year. My daughter was playing in my room with the door closed which she knows she is not supposed to do. She heard me when I started to open the door so she came running to the door to try and shut it. She either tripped and fell face first into the door or while I was opening it, she was running too fast to stop and ran into the door. She had a beautiful bloody lower lip and fat upper lip. She looked like Elvis. I really did feel bad but after she got over being upset and was talking "normally", I couldn't help laugh at how she was talking with that lip. My friends jokingly told me to not take her to the E.R. because 2 incidences in a short amount of time but be cause for alarm. Speaking of ERs, wow that bill was expensive.
