Back to the grind

Well, I guess it's time to get back to work. This week I started back with the same kids I had last year. The baby is now 7-months old and is on a good schedule. Then in the afternoon, I get an almost 2-year-old and later, his sister who is in first grade, rides the school bus to my house. I don't have too much overlap because the baby's dad comes not long after the others get to the house. That keeps me pretty busy during the school year, but at least I have holidays and summers off. It's pretty hot everywhere. However, it is rare for this part of the country to hit 100 and it has quite a few days already with not a lot of rain. Darren has been watering the yard like crazy to keep the lawn looking nice...you know him and his lawn. But it does look really good, I must admit. I had a good long visit with my family and friends. Becca and I drove down there on a Saturday, Darren flew in the following Saturday, and we all drove back on Tuesday. I spent the first part of the week relaxing thinking I had all kinds of time. But, I didn't get to see several people I was hoping to or do a few things I wanted. Maybe I'll have to go home for a month next time. :) I did go to Emily's store for her Friday night scrap night where she cooks a delicious meal and has snacks all night. It was a lot of fun. Becca and her cousin Cade, Steve's son, had a great time together. They are only 3 months apart so they were best friends one minute and fighting the next...ahhh 2-year-olds. Becca still talks about Cade. Darren is really busy with work. Most of his help is back in school so he'll have to work a lot of hours until daylight savings time comes along which happens to be later this year. That is not so good for us although I know a lot of people like more daylight. But he typically works typical 9-5 hours during the winter...yeah!!
